Stickley Beaver Lodge Getaway cabin is in a great convenient centered location for Winter adventures. Cabin is between Watersmeet and Marenisco. This historic area called Stickley has the advantage of being located by lakes, trails, and other places than just by Watersmeet.

CROSS COUNTRY SKIING AND SNOWSHOE TRAILS: Sylvania Area (Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing): Cross country ski trails are abundant in this area (some west and east of the cabin). Sylvania area has approximately ten groomed loops of some of the most scenic traditional cross country ski trails with exciting downhill runs. If you are planning for a group call them and they will make sure of their equipment, the grooming of the trails, etc. Snowshoeing and ski skating allowed on first four loops. These trails groomed by Sylvania Outfitters. There is a mapped location by Katherine Lake by Sylvania Wilderness. South of cabin (by Land O Lakes): From Highway 45 and County B go west County Road B to East Duck Lake Road. Then, north past Moon Lake Road. Goes to parking area on side of road (suggested to park on East side). These trails are groomed by Land O Lakes Fish and Game Club. West of the cabin (south Wakefield): Miljes. Two loops of 4.5 km each. Approximately 2 miles south of Wakefield. County Road 519. Log cabin warming hut, fun finnish signs on trail. Gentle terrain. Donations taken for the trail. 906-229-5267. Another location is by Lake Gogebic (on the west side of the lake) by the State Park.
Or, go skijouring or early Winter canoeing in this area. There is also downhill skiing facilities are less than a hour’s drive to the west (great day trip from the cabin to enjoy one of your days downhill skiing or a group could do different adventures on a daily basis).
Use plastic sleds (not snowmobiles), tubes, sledding sleds by the cabin (on the hill), charcoal some food on the grill, have a drink and watch the snow, see the stars in the sky, go ice fishing and go to Rogers Bar for some warm food and drinks (and then snuggle into the cabin with friends), .
Warm up at Rogers Bar (is down the road from the cabin). Warm food or drinks. Rogers Bar use to be called the Cisco Inn. Old murials are behind the bar. The area of the cabin was called Stickley. There was an old time cabin just north of the cabin called Stickley Lodge. There are many old time logging, mining and gangster stories.
